I'm went to Jamaica for 6 days a couple of weeks ago and I am still thinking about sitting on the beach there, staring at turquoise water and sipping fruity rum drinks all day long...
Also, the weather is FINALLY warm in Atlanta and that's why I'm FINALLY blogging about my very favorite Rum Punch Recipe!
I have to credit my sister, Sarah, for sending me this recipe. For my birthday a couple of years ago, she made me a "drink basket" of ingredients to make the perfect rum punch. The kind you imagine when you think of sitting anywhere tropical and sipping a happy, fruity, rummy drink all day, under an umbrella, next to a pool, in a hurricane glass....
The only ingredient missing from this basket is orange juice (refrigerated, so not pictured here).
Here's the fun recipe card she included in the basket...
In case you want to copy and paste the ingredients, here's the official recipe:
The Perfect Rum Punch:
1 oz. Malibu Red Rum*
1 oz. Cruzan Mango Rum
1.5 oz. Cranberry Juice
1.5 oz. Orange Juice
1.5 oz. Pineapple Juice
Put ice in glass, pour in ingredients, garnish with pineapple slice if desired.
*If you have trouble finding Malibu Red (see the bottle in the basket photo above), it's a blend of white rum, tequila and coconut liquor.
This punch is freakin' delicious and that's all I can say. I've served a large batch of this at a couple of parties now as my standard "party punch" and everyone loves it! I usually pour a double batch of this into a Yeti rambler and it stays cold and awesome for a while. (Let's be real though, I don't leave any in the cup for very long, but if I did, it would stay cold and awesome) : )
Cheers Friends! Let me know if you try the recipe!
