Step Up Your Holiday Bubbles Game This Year!

November 22, 2017

Thanksgiving Day can be a long one! Houseguests, cooking multiple meals, (finding room for 3 helpings of stuffing and green bean casserole) figuring out which wine to pair with turkey AND ham. Like, so much to deal with...

So, this week I'm offering up a few morning beverage suggestions to take the edge off at the start of your long day! These are also easy upgrades for your regular mimosa routine, girls brunch, etc. Impress your guests with these simple sparkling alternatives that require just a few extra ingredients!

 Classic Champagne Cocktail

 - 1 sugar cube

- Angostura Bitters

- Champagne (or Prosecco)

- Lemon Twist

1) Saturate the sugar cube with Bitters (basically turn the sugar cube orange)

2) Pour champagne over sugar cube (You can use a regular champagne flute or a fun coupe glass (I have these particular coupe glasses from Amazon)

3) Add lemon twist and serve! (this part isn't just for garnish, the flavor from the lemon peel oil is an essential factor in this cocktail)

French 75

- 1 oz. of Gin

- 1/2 oz. of Simple Syrup

- 1/2 oz. of Lemon Juice

- Champagne (or Prosecco)

- Lemon Twist

  1. In a cocktail shaker with ice, shake gin, simple syrup & lemon juice

  2. Strain mixture into a chilled champagne flute or coupe glass

  3. Top with champagne and garnish with a lemon twist

Trader Joe's Secco (Cranberry)

Yep, that's right, no recipe here, just a $5.99 bottle of Cranberry Secco from Trader Joe's and it's fantastic! Crisp and fruity, cheap and pretty. : )

Add a pick with frozen cranberries to garnish the drink (and help keep it cold!)

Bonus: This also tastes wonderful with a splash of Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice!

CHEERS and Happy Thanksgiving!
