Okay friends, behold, the tastiest fruit juice/vodka drink I know. Fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh lime, Finlandia Grapefruit Vodka and Cranberry Juice make this delicious citrus concoction. My sister introduced me to this drink, which she discovered at Ted's Montana Grill here in Atlanta. Ted's calls this drink a Mountain Breeze, but there is a more commonly known "Mountain Breeze" drink out there in the world with entirely different ingredients so for the sake of this blog post I'm going to call it "Grapefruit Goodness." Because it is exactly that. Since I'm not a content/drink recipe stealer, I'm posting a link to Ted's recipe page here, but I make mine just a little differently, so I'm posting my recipe below.
*Note: This vodka isn't the same as "Ruby Red" anything. It has a unique fresh grapefruit taste that makes this drink exactly the right amount of tart/sour/sweet.
If you're not one to keep fresh fruit around, you can make this with bottled fruit juice, it's just not quite the same. Equivalents are...
-Half of an orange = ~2 oz. OJ
-Half of a lime = ~1 oz. Lime Juice (I only use Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice for drink-making. It's the best, for real. All of the other stuff is super sweetened.)
Really Simple Instructions:
Squeeze the juice from half of an orange and half of a lime into a shaker
Add the cran, vodka and ice and shake it like you mean it
Pour into a martini glass and serve (I don't strain mine because I like fruit pulp, but if you're not a pulp fan, use a strainer)
